GK – Vito Mannone

GK - Vito Mannone

With Sunderland firmly at the foot of the table for much of late 2013, few would have predicted that the Black Cats would be out of the relegation zone and in a domestic Cup final as early as March. However, that is the case, and Gus Poyet’s men owe much to their goalkeeper, Mannone. The Italian stopper has been in excellent form throughout the more recent rounds of the competition, playing a huge role in the extra-time win against Chelsea and the two-legged victory over Manchester United in the final four. He will come up against, arguably, the finest attack in English football as he faces Manchester City in the Final, but we feel he deserves his spot in our dream XI.
