Tottenham are interested in Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana, per GOAL, but they face competition for his signature from elsewhere.

What's the word?

Spurs could be in line for a summer of upheaval as Jose Mourinho drastically needs to turn around the clubs fortunes after exiting each cup at an early stage.

One area of weakness for Spurs currently is their defence, as the team have conceded 41 goals in 26 games since the Portuguese boss took over.

Rivals Chelsea and Barcelona are also said to be showing an interest in the 23-year-old, whom Spurs fans should be well aware of after their Champions League clash last season.

Time for change between the posts?

The Tottenham goalkeeping department has been a concern far too often this season, and even Hugo Lloris' return from injury hasn't solved the issue, as he has let down his teammates since coming back into the side.

At 33 years old an injury to his shoulder may also have done long-term damage, and though he is club captain, Mourinho may be considering freshening things up, and some fans would be in agreement with that.

Paulo Gazzaniga also causes uncertainty at times and carries a risk, with his rush of blood when he came to clear the ball against Chelsea - but instead clatter into Marcos Alonso - a prime example of that.

Onana is still young and has plenty to improve on, as his 59% pass accuracy in the Champions League this season evidences, but after recording just three clean sheets under Mourinho Spurs need something to change.

The Cameroon international has only conceded 21 goals in 24 league games this term, which shows that while he is young, he has the ability to command both his area and his defence, and that could be pivotal for the north London outfit.
