Former Tottenham Hotspur star Graham Roberts insists that there is no sense in Adama Traore signing a new contract at Wolves.
The right winger was heavily linked with a potential move to Spurs throughout the summer transfer window.
Reports suggested that the north London club made an initial bid to take Traore on loan, with the option to buy him next summer, while other outlets have claimed that the club tabled a bid worth £30m in the final week of the window, but that Wolves valued him at £50m.
New reports after the close of the transfer window have since suggested that Wolves are now hopeful of the Spain international committing his future to the club.
Express and Star journalist Luke Hatfield has claimed already that Wolves are in talks over a new contract for the forward.
His current deal is set to expire in 2023 but Roberts insists that there is next to no point in the 25-year-old putting pen to paper if he really hopes to take the next step in his career.
Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, Roberts said: “If you’re Traore and you’re looking to play at a higher level, why would you sign a new contract at Wolves? It doesn’t make sense.”
