In an exclusive interview with Football FanCast, former Wigan Athletic and Derby County manager, Paul Jewell, has claimed that current Tottenham Hotspur manager, Ryan Mason, won't get the job beyond this season.

Mason, who is only 29-years old and the youngest ever Premier League manager, has been placed in charge until the end of the season following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

It had been reported that Spurs were set to have a meeting with Ajax boss Erik ten Hag about potentially taking the job at the end of the season, however the Dutch club have since triggered a year's extension on his contract, with Gareth Southgate also highly admired by Spurs.

Speaking on why Mason won't get the job on a permanent basis but how it will be valuable experience for the 29-year old, Jewell exclusively told FFC:

"Whatever happens between now and the end of the season it'll befantastic experience for him and unless something marvellous happens then I guess he doesn't think he's getting the job.

"Making decisions while the games moving and when you know that millions of people are watching you is a fantastic experience so I wish him well."

Daniel Levy had reportedly identified Julian Nagelsmann as the club's number one managerial target but he has agreed to join Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

Spurs have also been knocked back recently as Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers, has said that he doesn't want the job.
