Who am I?

I played in Turkey and the MLS before moving to English football.

I made 13 appearances for Spurs in the Europa League but also featured in the UEFA Cup with Liverpool.

I made the PFA Premier League Team of the Year in 2002/03.

I scored one career goal against Charlton Athletic.

I earned 82 caps for my country.

I won one League Cup during my time in England.

I still hold a record at Aston Villa.

The Answer

The answer is Brad Friedel. Before arriving in England, he represented Brondby, Galatasaray and Columbus Crew, ahead of a move to Anfield in 1997.

He did feature twice in the UEFA Cup for Liverpool, but found himself someway down the pecking order and eventually joined Blackburn Rovers - it was there where Friedel won the League Cup, made the PFA Team of the Year and scored the only goal of his career.

He later joined Aston Villa and became their oldest ever first-team player at 40 years and four days, before enjoying a late summer at Spurs, making 67 appearances and representing the club in Europe.

Friedel also represented the USA on 82 occasions and the 2002 World Cup saw him become the first player in the tournament's history to save two regulation time penalties.
