Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge believes Nuno Espirito Santo will have to offer Tanguy Ndombele first-team opportunities if he fails to seal a move away from Tottenham Hotspur.

Ndombele went into transfer deadline day hoping to find a buyer after telling the Spurs hierarchy he wants to depart.

The 24-year-old's frustrations come after not being included in any of Spurs' matchday squads since the new season got underway earlier this month.

Ndombele, who is still the north Londoners' club-record signing having joined from French side Lyon for £63million two years ago, has been linked with a move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich as the deadline looms.

However, Sky Sports reporter Paul Gilmour has claimed a move has failed to materialise and, despite both parties wanting to go their separate ways, Ndombele appears set to remain with Spurs.

Bridge feels Nuno, who was appointed as the club's new head coach in June, has no option but to reintegrate Ndombele into the squad if he remains at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium beyond the deadline.

He told Football FanCast: "Can Tottenham afford to have a guy of that ability in the under-23s or not even training? It doesn't bear thinking about. It's the worst business possible.

"I think Tottenham just have to integrate him back into the squad. It'll be interesting to see what happens."
