After being handed a shock start against Norwich in the FA Cup fifth round of Wednesday evening, Michel Vorm delivered a hugely underwhelming display.

The Dutchman's last appearance for Tottenham came way back in October 2018, when he was in between the sticks for the clash against PSV in the Champions League.

And the expected rustiness was there for all to see in mid-week. The former Swansea shot-stopper almost dropped the ball into his own net from a fairly speculative effort, before seeing his luck run out just a little later when Josip Drmic converted from close range after he spilled a long-range strike.

Despite making one save in the penalty shoot-out, Spurs fans took to Twitter to voice their frustrations with the 36-year-old.

A couple of Spurs fans simply hammered Vorm's goalkeeping abilities, with one supporter claiming that everytime he plays for them, he ends up making an "absolutely horrific mistake".

A few Spurs fans revealed their frustrations at seeing Vorm back in goal for them, with one even describing the move to bring to him back as "embarrassing".

You really do have to wonder what Mourinho was thinking behind his decision to play Vorm.

The club's number two goalkeeper, Paulo Gazzaniga, was on the bench, so surely there was no need whatsoever for the Portuguese boss to turn to his third choice?

Instead, his decision back-fired spectacularly, with Spurs heading out of the competition to a side rooted to the bottom of the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Tottenham were denied the chance to sign this Champions League playing centre-back in January.
