Tottenham Hotspur's season is currently on halt - which is probably a good thing as it was quickly plummetting towards a train wreck in the space of just a few weeks.

No cup competitions left to play for and a seven-point deficit to overturn in just nine matches if they are to even get a sniff of the top four in the Premier League. It is something that seems growingly unlikely given the fact that their form reads five defeats from six in all competitions.

Although, if there's one positive from the time off, it'll be that Jose Mourinho can welcome back some of the stars currently sat on his treatment table - most notably skipper and leading talisman Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and midfield powerhouse Moussa Sissoko.

All of which should walk straight into the starting lineup, so here's how Spurs could look when they come out the other side of this global pandemic...

Spurs Predicted XI PL return

There are no places available for three players with an affiliation for former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Eric Dier, who played 216 times under the Argentine; Jan Vertonghen, who featured in 34 games last season; and £55m club-record summer signing Tanguy Ndombele are all out of the side.

The Belgian, in particular, has an unlikely future in north London as he's out of contract at the end of the season and reports have linked him with a move to Inter Milan.

Instead, Japhet Tanganga could get a run next to Toby Alderweireld if Mourinho wants to take a look ahead of the summer and next season.

Dele Alli partners the returning Frenchman in central midfield with the shining light of the season, Giovani Lo Celso, in the number ten role.

Sissoko, who is valued at £22.5m by Transfermarkt, partnered Ndombele under Pochettino, but that could change following Mourinho's public ousting of the 23-year-old.

A true test for any Spurs fan: Can you match these iconic images with the right results?

If the season does indeed recommence at the start of April, it should still prove too early for Steven Bergwijn to make a comeback from injury, so Lucas Moura will continue but out wide and on the other flank to the South Korean.

Kane, of course, leads the line.
