Former Tottenham Hotspur player Paul Stewart would love the club to go out and get Yves Bissouma, but believes if he gets an offer from Manchester City he will choose the Cityzens over Spurs.

The 24-year-old, who Gary Lineker once labelled an "exceptional" footballer, can play as either a defensive midfielder or central midfielder and appeared in all but two of Brighton and Hove Albion’s Premier League matches last season.

Whilst in those matches, Bissouma had a 65% tackle success rate, won 227 duels and was successful in 53, 50/50 battles.

The Brighton player has two years left on his contract at the Amex stadium, but the Daily Star reported a number of clubs including Tottenham had all made inquiries about Bissouma, and Stewart would love to see him in a Tottenham shirt but believes if Man City come in for him, he will go there.

“Bissouma is certainly a player I’d loved Spurs to get, but he’s going to go to City isn’t he, if he gets offered City,” Stewart told Football FanCast. “That’s the cold hard facts. If City come in for you, you just don’t say no do you because you know the rewards and not just monetary, I’m talking about you’re probably going to be challenging for every trophy.”

After a brilliant few seasons with Brighton and Hove Albion it’s obvious Bissouma has caught the attention of a number of clubs, but after losing Ben White to Arsenal, will Brighton want to lose another star player this summer?
