When it rains, it pours at Tottenham Hotspur.

After losing the north London derby in emphatic nature, manager Antonio Conte was dealt another blow over the weekend...

What's the latest?

According to reliable football.london journalist Alasdair Gold, the Italian is growing concerned by the fitness of winger Lucas Moura, who has been dealt another injury setback.

"Because I know you are desperate for more bad Spurs news today, I understand Lucas Moura suffered an injury setback this week having returned to training and Conte is worried" he tweeted alongside an accompanying article.

Gutting setback for Conte

The 30-year-old Brazilian has not featured for Spurs since August, having suffered tendon inflammation and whilst he has had both good and bad days with the pain, he has now suffered a further issue after returning to training during the international break.

With a run of 13 matches in 43 days - across both the Premier League, Champions League and League Cup - right before the World Cup, it's a particular worry as rotation will be harder to come by, particularly up front, where the likes of Heung-min Son and Harry Kane will need to stay fit for Spurs to compete consistently.

Over the weekend, the first of those 13 matches saw Conte's side defeated 3-1 by Arsenal and speaking after the game, the 53-year-old said:

"You know very well that now we have to play every three days. We have to move on and we have to hope we don't have any more injuries. Today [Dejan] Kulusevski was out, Moura I'm really worried because he's really far to recover."

Key players like the aforementioned frontline duo won't be able to play every match during this hectic run without picking up an injury themselves or suffering from intense fatigue, which is why players like Moura need to be available for selection.

Over the years, the former Paris Saint-Germain has proven to be a fairly reliable stalwart for the club, having scored 38 goals and laid on 27 assists across 204 appearances, via Transfermarkt, including that famous night against Ajax in the Champions League.

Therefore, his continued absence and troubling injury situation is only bad news for Spurs and their chances of success over the coming weeks.
