Tottenham Hotspur centre-forward Harry Kane is enjoying yet another superb start to a season with the club as he leads the way in front of goal.

The England captain has found the back of the net 11 times in 18 matches in all competitions for Antonio Conte's side so far and is currently on 259 strikes in total for Spurs.

Many talented goalscorers have showcased their ability in front of goal in north London and someone who could have been a role model for Kane, whilst he was growing up, is former Lillywhites forward Dimitar Berbatov.

Tottenham hit the jackpot when they snapped the Bulgarian up from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2006. Then-sporting director Damien Comolli negotiated a deal for a reported fee of £10.9m, amid interest from a host of other clubs across Europe.

Berbatov joined after scoring 41 goals in the previous two Bundesliga seasons combined and 91 goals in 202 games for the German side in total.

Former Fulham boss Martin Jol once hailed his match-winning quality, saying:

"He’s a remarkable boy. He’s a different personality, but he’s said it twice now. Against Stoke before the match and he said it again today. The only thing he wants is a day off if he scores. I promised him a day off and he scores! He looks like he’s sulking and sometimes his body language is not great, but you know that he can be a winner, and he can decide games for you.”

The attacker showcased that ability to win matches in a fantastic debut year with Spurs as he racked up 23 goals and 15 assists in 49 matches in all competitions for the club as he provided a huge threat at the top end of the pitch on a consistent basis.

Berbatov followed that up by plundering Premier League side Manchester United.

Sir Alex Ferguson, who claimed that the striker had the "touch of a genius", signed him after agreeing a £30.7m deal in the summer of 2008 to take him away from Spurs.

This means that the club made a tasty profit of 182% on the initial £10.9m they paid Leverkusen to sign him two years earlier. They enjoyed two years of fantastic service from the mercurial marksman before almost trebling their money, which shows that they hit the jackpot by signing him in 2006.
