With their hopes of getting through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League hinging on a thread following their 1-0 defeat to RB Leipzig, Tottenham know reaching the top four (or five depending on how things pan out with Manchester City) could be oh-so important.

Despite seeing him win the penalty, Spurs fans took to Twitter to voice their frustrations with the Argentine.

One fan in particular meanwhile expressed their frustrations over Lamela's apparent selfishness, insisting that this is a team game.

Another couple of fans referred to Lamela's substitution, with one supporter even suggesting that it was "78 minutes too late".
