Loads of Tottenham Hotspur fans would like to see Erling Haaland signed if Harry Kane leaves, following his bombshell on Sunday evening.

In an Instagram Q&A with Jamie Redknapp, the Spurs striker said, via The Guardian: "I love Spurs, I’ll always love Spurs but I’ve always said if I don’t feel we’re progressing as a team or going in the right direction, I’m not someone to stay there for the sake of it.

"I’m an ambitious player, I want to improve, get better and become one of the top, top players. It all depends on what happens as a team and how we progress as a team. So it’s not a definite I’m going to stay there forever, but it’s not a no either."

That is probably the clearest indication yet that the England captain is willing to walk away from the north London outfit unless they he sees them challenging for trophies, with them coming up short this season in particular.

Knocked out of the Carabao Cup, the FA Cup and the Champions League by March, they are a colossal 41 points behind Liverpool in the Premier League standings with nine matches still to play, too.

Should the 26-year-old depart, plenty of Spurs supporters seem pretty clear on who they would want to replace him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Haaland, who is 19 and comes in at 6 ft 4 tall, has scored a remarkable 40 goals in 33 matches in all competitions for Dortmund and Red Bull Salzburg this term, showing the immense potential he looks to have despite his tender years.

One individual below described him as the "only acceptable replacement" for Kane, while another argued that it was "plain and simple" that the club should target the teenager if they lose their talisman.

It’s difficult to argue.
