Tottenham Hotspur's Dejan Kulusevski has been on the receiving end of some big praise from TalkSport's Ally McCoist following their victory on the weekend.

Why was Kulusevski substituted against Chelsea?

The Swedish winger started in the victory against Chelsea and lasted the majority of the game having been replaced by Son Heung-min in the 79th minute.

He was the first Spurs player to be withdrawn by Cristian Stellini with the Lilywhites holding a narrow one-goal lead at the time against their London rivals.

However, it was not Kulusevski's most impressive outing for the north London side which saw him awarded a 7/10 by Alasdair Gold.

Despite this, speaking on TalkSport on Monday morning, McCoist waxed lyrical over the 22-year-old and his influence on the Tottenham side:

(1:35) "One name you haven't mentioned, Jamie [O'Hara], I think is well worth a mention would have to be Kulusevski. I just think he's been absolutely different class. I think a lot of the good things - Harry Kane goes without saying - but I think a lot of the good news he's involved in at Spurs right."

Will Kulusevski start against Sheffield United?

The winger has had his issues this season through injury which saw him miss a number of games earlier in the campaign but there may still be some question marks over his form this season.

When he arrived last January, the Swede had an instant impact in north London where he was able to return five goals and eight assists in his 18 league appearances.

However, this season, in his 17 league appearances, Kulusevski has only returned two goals and five assists for the Lilywhites.

Whether or not the injury setback has had an impact on his displays is another question, but with a busy schedule ahead, the game against Sheffield United on Wednesday could offer Stellini the opportunity to rest Kulusevski.

It was a rather quiet display from the Swede on Sunday who only recorded 36 touches throughout the game and lost possession on 10 occasions (via SofaScore).

And although he registered a key pass in his 79-minute display, he failed to attempt a single shot on Kepa Arrizabalaga's goal.

In his place could come Arnaut Danjuma with the January signing still in search of his first start in a Spurs shirt with his only minutes coming off the bench so far.

But in the game where Danjuma was awarded his most amount of game time for the Lilywhites - against Preston North End - the Dutchman was able to provide an instant impact.

Not only does the FA Cup clash on Wednesday offer Spurs with an opportunity to secure their spot in the quarter-finals but it will also allow Stellini to potentially rotate some of his players.

And it does seem as if Kulusevski could possibly be one of the players who could benefit from a rest as well as the notion of a player challenging him for his spot in the side.

With just one league goal to his name since the first game of the season, it does feel as if it is time for Kulusevski to help relieve the burden on Harry Kane's shoulders in front of goal.
