Spurs continued their impressive recent run with a comfortable 4-1 win against Crystal Palace on Sunday evening, with Jose Mourinho's side now just two points behind Chelsea in fourth place.

Whilst Harry Kane and Gareth Bale stole the show at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as they both scored braces, Sergio Reguilon also impressed with his performance in defence.

As per SofaScore, the Spanish defender would earn an excellent 7.7 rating for his performance against the Eagles, with only Kane and Bale rated higher of all the other players on the pitch.

The former Real Madrid man was excellent from a defensive point of view against Roy Hodgson's side, as he would make five tackles and five interceptions, which is far more impressive than the 1.9 tackles and 1.3 interceptions he has averaged per game in the Premier League so far this season.

In the absence of Wilfried Zaha in the first half, Palace were perhaps reliant on Andros Townsend for much of their creativity against Spurs, but Reguilon was the clear winner in the battle of the two, as the former Spurs man managed a disappointing 6.4 rating for his performance.

The Palace winger would complete just one dribble, one cross and 13 passes during his time on the pitch, with Reguilon's energy and forward runs meaning he was often more occupied with defending than attacking.

Reguilon, who reportedly earns £80k per week at Tottenham, was also a danger going forward for Mourinho's side, as he had 99 touches of the ball, so was heavily involved in the build-up play and whilst just one of his three crosses in the game was accurate, that one would lead to a goal, as it was headed back across goal by Kane for Bale to score.

To complete a battling display from the Spanish international, he would impressively win 10/14 of his duels during the 90 minutes, which emphasises just how effective he is at winning the ball back for Spurs, before launching attacks with his desire to go forward, something which is unfortunately not offered by Ben Davies.

WhoScored rated Reguilon 7.94/10 for his performance, which is his best rating of the season so far, so he deserves a lot of credit for his display, and Mourinho will surely be delighted with the way his left-back is playing this season.
