Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a potentially huge injury boost regarding Dejan Kulusevski.

What's the latest?

That's according to Dan Kilpatrick, with the journalist revealing in a recent report for the Evening Standard that, despite both Cristian Romero and Son Heung-min looking unlikely to feature for Spurs prior to the World Cup due to injuries, there is some good news for Antonio Conte's side, with Kulusevski having returned to first-team training this week.

Kilpatrick went on to state that, although the Italian manager is expected to give a more detailed update on the condition of the 22-year-old winger in his pre-Liverpool press conference this afternoon, the Sweden international himself is hopeful of making a return to first-team action prior to Tottenhams' fixture list pausing for the World Cup on November 12.

Massive boost

Considering the fact that the injury sustained by Son has left Conte incredibly short of attacking options for Spurs' next three fixtures, should Kulusevski make a return in the coming days, it would come as a massive boost to the 53-year-old manager.

Indeed, without the services of Son, Kulusevski and Richarlison, the Italian has been left with only one of his first-choice options in attack - Harry Kane - for the meeting with Liverpool this weekend, with Conte facing something of a selection migraine.

And, considering just how impressive Kulusevski has been since his move to north London back in January, the availability of the £69m-rated forward would be very welcome news indeed for all involved with Tottenham.

Indeed, over his 29 appearances for the Lilywhites, the £110k-per-week attacker has already scored a sensational six goals and provided his teammates with 11 assists - averaging a direct goal involvement every 114 minutes of football played for Spurs.

Furthermore, the Swede's influence within the starting XI is clear to see in Tottenham's results. Of the seven league fixtures Kulusevski has started this season, Tottenham are unbeaten, averaging 2.6 goals and 2.3 points per match.

However, in the six league games without him, they have lost three times - including back-to-back defeats to Manchester United and Newcastle United - and averaged 1.3 goals and 1.5 points.

As such, it is clear to see just how big of a miss the 22-year-old has been for the north London side, with his return to fitness now needed more than ever for Conte.
