Preview: Spurs vs Leicester City – latest team, injury news & predicted XI

Tottenham Hotspur face Leicester City in the Premier League‘s Saturday evening kick-off, with Antonio Conte undoubtedly hoping that his side will be able to get back to winning ways after a disappointing 2-0 Champions League defeat to Sporting Lisbon in midweek.

Indeed, the loss in Portugal represented Spurs’ first defeat of the 2022/23 campaign, with Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Richarlison all struggling to make any real impact on the game over the course of the 90 minutes against Ruben Amorim’s side.

As such, with Conte revealing in his pre-match press conference that “no players are undroppable” from his starting XI, just how many changes will the 52-year-old make to his side for the visit of the Foxes on Saturday evening?

While Conte revealed ahead of today’s fixture that Lucas Moura – who last featured on 20 August due to a tendon injury – remains the only player unavailable for selection, we nevertheless expect the Italian to make three changes from the side which lost out at the Estadio Jose Alvalade on Tuesday.

Here’s how we at Football FanCast think Tottenham could line up, along with the latest team and injury news…

The first change comes in the back three, with the £60k-per-week Ben Davies – after a poor Champions League showing – making way for summer addition Clement Lenglet, while Eric Dier and Cristian Romero retain their starting berths.

There is also a change at wing-back, with Emerson Royal – who has started all eight of Tottenham’s fixtures so far this season – dropping to the bench, Ivan Persic moving over to the right and Ryan Sessegnon handed a “surprise” start on the left.

Conte’s now-typical central midfield duo of Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg remains unchanged, with the Italian’s third and final alteration coming in the front three as a big call being made on Son Heung-min.

Indeed, with the South Korea sensation having failed to score in all eight of his appearances so far this season, Dejan Kulusevski could be handed his first start in four games in place of the 30-year-old, while Richarlison and Kane make up the attacking trio.
