Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama has departed for the MLS after four years at the club.

The 28-year-old has joined Thierry Henry's Montreal Impact on a free transfer after Spurs agreed to the move with confirmation coming late on Tuesday night.

Wanyama had barely featured this season, playing four times with his sole start coming against Colchester in the Carabao Cup.

He took to Instagram to post a heartfelt message about his time in north London, he said:

The central midfielder followed former boss Mauricio Pochettino from Southampton in 2016 and went on to make 97 appearances for the club.

Many will remember him for his thunderbolt equaliser against Liverpool back in February 2018, which can be viewed here.

Even though no fee was received for the Kenyan, it does mean Spurs have been able to get wages believed to be £65k-per-week off their books ahead of a potentially busy summer.

A true test for any Spurs fan: Can you match these iconic images with the right results?
