Tottenham Hotspur and Jose Mourinho are showing an interest in signing Hellas Verona centre-back Marash Kumbulla, according to Italian outlet L'Arena.

There has not yet been much progress made in bringing him to North London, but it is suggested that the Portuguese tactician has made it known that he is thinking of the 20-year-old.

Interest follows a campaign in which Kumbulla started 25 Serie A matches, winning 1.6 tackles and 2.6 aerial duels per game, while also making 2 interceptions, 3.3 clearances and 1 block.

This way of thinking could see Spurs enter a transfer battle with Italian giants Internazionale, AC Milan and Lazio, who have already made their own considerations regarding the Albania international known.

It seems as though Milan are the most serious suitors for the starlet, with Inter cooling their interest slightly after their participation in the Europa League final, while Lazio remain interested but haven't taken much action to make something happen as of yet.

Verona are currently refusing to accept anything under their valuation of €24m (£22.2m), which may prove to be a sticking point for some of those interested.
