Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge believes that Tottenham Hotspur would rather sell Davinson Sanchez this summer than Eric Dier.

The club are currently attempting to reshape their squad ahead of the new season, with Nuno Espirito Santo now in charge and Fabio Paratici appointed as their Director of Football.

They have secured the signing of Bryan Gil from Sevilla, with Erik Lamela moving the other way in a deal worth just over £20m, while they have also brought in Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini on loan from Atalanta with an option to buy.

Spurs have also moved a number of players on, in addition to Lamela, with Juan Foyth moving to Villarreal, Toby Alderweireld leaving to join Qatari club Al-Duhail SC, and Danny Rose and Paulo Gazzaniga going to Watford and Fulham respectively on free transfers. Gareth Bale and Carlos Vinicius have also returned to Real Madrid and Benfica respectively after their loan spells expired.

Sanchez, 25, has been linked with an exit from the club this summer, as has Dier, but Bridge, who covers Spurs regularly and also supports the club, insists that they would prefer to sell the Colombia international than the Englishman.

Speaking to Football FanCast, he said: “I’m sure when people will be hearing this, they’ll be saying ‘what about Eric Dier?’

“Look, I get it, he didn’t have a good season last season but not many did. I think they might look at it and say out of the two, who would you want to leave?

“They’d probably say Sanchez. One for the money reason and two, Dier can play in midfield. I’d say it’ll still be Sanchez (leaving) if they can (do it).”
