Tottenham Hotspur have been tipped to complete some late business on deadline day...

What's the word?

Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas has warned Spurs supporters to "watch this space" as developments could emerge throughout the day. He told the 'Transfer Centre':

"Leeds are reluctant to part with Dan James unless they bring in [a] replacement so this one looks difficult for Tottenham at this stage.

"Had Leeds made a breakthrough with Cody Gakpo overnight, then we might be talking about a different situation this morning.

"Spurs are considering their options this morning so maybe another late name will emerge.

"Watch this space."

Paratici can get Spurs rocking

It's no secret that both sporting director Fabio Paratici and chairman Daniel Levy like to spring a surprise late in the transfer window - we saw it back in January when the Italian supremo snagged Juventus duo Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski in last-minute moves.

Both of them are now regulars in Antonio Conte's starting XI, so his decision to wait until the very end has certainly paid off.

Now the Spurs boss is in dire need of attacking reinforcements, with a particular focus on finding someone creative and versatile enough to fill that void in the final third.

"I think they are definitely looking at a creative playmaker, someone who can play as a number 10," claimed Express journalist Ryan Taylor to GIVEMESPORT just last month.

Several names have been linked in recent weeks, such as James, who Thomas mentions is an unlikely signing, particularly as reports now suggest that the Wales international is closing in on a deal to join Fulham instead.

Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore has continually been spoken about with key figures at Hotspur Way keen on his signature, whilst Monaco star Gelson Martins is another name that has cropped up in the last few hours.

Spurs have even been mooted to players like Leicester City playmaker James Maddison and AS Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo, so Paratici has certainly been busy.

He could well get the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium rocking with one final signing, making it a perfect eight this summer, if he can find that elusive creative piece to complete Conte's spending spree.
