Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is now prioritising a move for Middlesbrough star Isaiah Jones in the summer transfer window.

What's the story?

Reports in recent weeks had suggested that the north London side have been tracking the full-back, and it now appears he has overtaken the likes of Djed Spence and Valentino Livramento in the pecking order for this summer in a fresh transfer twist.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, he said: "From what I’m told, Isaiah Jones has actually emerged as a player of higher priority for Tottenham in the next window."

He destroyed Sessegnon in the FA Cup

The 22-year-old Jones really came to the fore when he performed superbly in Boro's FA Cup upset of Spurs recently, a game in which he completely overpowered Ryan Sessegnon down his flank.

As per Sofascore, he won a quite remarkable nine of his 15 total duels and made four tackles (both being the second-most of any player on the pitch), attempted five dribbles, provided one key pass and had a 100% crossing accuracy - the kind of all-round domination that eventually led to Sessegnon being hooked with just ten minutes to go of normal time.

In his post-match player ratings for The Hartlepool Mail, Joe Nicholson gave him an eight, saying: "Got stronger as the game went on and was a real threat on the right. Kept charging forward into the Spurs box as space opened up."

That was followed up by Alasdair Gold's match rating of a four for Sessegnon, adding: "Had a few early moments when he looked to attack but he spent much of the remainder of the match defending before being taken off."

The full-back is someone who has already earned rave reviews for his performances, with Derby County boss Wayne Rooney waxing lyrical about him previously.

He said: "He’s a very good player. The lad has a bright future ahead of him and it was because of Jones that we felt we had to set up differently.

"We knew he’s very aggressive going forward and thought we could utilise the space behind but obviously that didn’t happen. It is a compliment to him that a good player like (Djed) Spence is out on loan."

Dubbed as "outstanding" by Boro manager Chris Wilder, the 5 foot 11 machine could be a perfect signing for Conte's wing-back system at the club.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have been handed a boost in their chase for this star...
