Heung-min Son is close to agreeing on a new contract at Tottenham Hotspur after months of negotiations...

What's the word?

Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano delivered an exciting update on this week's 'Here We Go' podcast, where he claimed:

"Tottenham will go for a Son Heung-Min new contract because they want to continue with him. They have been negotiating with him since November. They are really confident, now it is time to complete the agreement."

Back in November, the Telegraph reported that talks between the North London outfit and the South Korean had slowed due to a change in representation and with him under contract until 2023 already, there was no real rush to complete the extension.

But now it seems like things are back on and are merely one step away from being confirmed.

Finally some good news

This will come as really positive news for many in N17, especially given various troubling situations at the club right now.

Of course, there is their managerial saga that has rumbled on for nearly nine weeks, with still no appointment in sight.

Much of the Lilywhites faithful has been left frustrated by the whole process, with big-name candidates like Julian Nagelsmann, Antonio Conte and Mauricio Pochettino all quickly being ruled out, crushing the hopes of many.

Instead, the club have targeted some uninspiring names like Paulo Fonseca and Gennaro Gattuso, and even then, they have fallen through too.

With pre-season just ten days away, Spurs are in a bit of a mess.

That's not to forget that fans have protested against the club's board and chairman in recent months, with the potential hiring of the controversial Italian also causing major backlash.

And then there is the future of Harry Kane to resolve.

According to Sky Sports, the England international has requested to leave his boyhood club this summer, alerting the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea to his signature.

Understandably he wants to add silverware to his illustrious goalscoring record and both of those teams won major honours this season, the former clinching the Premier League and the latter sealing the Champions League.

So to have Son committing his future to Spurs has to be very encouraging news as he's a major star in this current squad, perhaps alongside Kane. He scored 17 and assisted ten of their 68 league goals last term (39%).

Amid all the negativity at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium right now, the latest update on Son from Romano should give everyone a big boost.

AND in other news, Major Paratici update emerges in Spurs' managerial search, fans will surely be fuming...
