The January transfer window slammed shut last Tuesday and Tottenham Hotspur ended the month with two new arrivals to bolster their squad.

Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte worked to bring in Arnaut Danjuma and Pedro Porro, on loan from Villarreal and Sporting respectively, to improve their options in the final third and on the right-side of their defence.

Although the window has only been closed for a little under a week, the club reportedly already have one eye on the business they would like to do in the summer to strengthen ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Spanish outlet Marca recently reported that Tottenham could renew their previous interest in Atletico Madrid wing-back Yannick Carrasco at the end of the season.

The report claimed that Barcelona had offered a loan with an option to sign him for €20m (£18m), although it remains to be seen whether or not Spurs would be willing to offer more than that.

Paratici could land a big upgrade on left wing-back Ryan Sessegnon by securing a deal to sign the Belgium international later this year, as the Englishman has struggled to impress this season.

Ivan Perisic and the ex-Fulham gem have rotated in the Premier League with the latter averaging a Sofascore rating of 6.64 in 17 top-flight appearances - starting nine matches - and contributing with two goals and zero assists whilst creating 0.4 chances per game.

This comes after the 22-year-old averaged a rating of 6.75 in 13 league starts - scoring zero goals and providing two assists - in 15 outings last term.

Carrasco, who has created 1.1 chances per match this season, enjoyed a terrific 2021/22 campaign in LaLiga with Atletico as a left wing-back with the Belgian averaging a Sofascore rating of 7.09 across 34 appearances.

The 29-year-old, who manager Diego Simeone once hailed as "complete", scored six goals and assisted another half a dozen for his teammates in the Spanish top-flight, whilst averaging 1.6 key passes per outing and creating ten 'big chances' in total.

He also ranks in the top 3% of players in his position in Europe's top five leagues and European competitions over the last 365 days for progressive carries, progressive passes, and shot-creating actions per 90, which shows that the gem has been one of the most effective attacking wing-backs on the continent.

Sessegnon, meanwhile, does not rank higher than the top 34% in any of those statistics, whilst being in the bottom 3% for progressive passes per 90.

Therefore, Carrasco could well be a big upgrade on the England U21 international due to the average level of his performance, the contributions he can make in the final third, and the quality the Belgian dynamo can provide in the build-up by dribbling and passing the ball up the pitch swiftly.
