Tottenham Hotspur could "definitely" make a move for Lautaro Martinez this summer...

What's the word?

That's according to journalist Jacque Talbot, who delivered a bold claim to GIVEMESPORT this week.

The north London outfit have long been linked to the Inter Milan talisman, with Spurs even agreeing on a fee to sign him last summer. He has again been named as a potential option by football.london ahead of the off-season.

And Talbot believes he could end up at Tottenham after all.

"Inter Milan need to make money, they need to sell players to make money," he said.

"They’re in debt, they need to make about 50 million Euros. Getting someone like Martinez, [who] is on Spurs’ list and [it] could definitely happen."

Conte dream

The 24-year-old would be something of a dream signing for manager Antonio Conte, who coached the Argentina international during his time at the San Siro, where the pair helped steer the Italian giants to their first Serie A title in 11 years.

He formed a frightening partnership with Romelu Lukaku in the final third and that's something Conte could be looking to replicate in N17, only with the far superior Harry Kane - a simply mouthwatering prospect.

After delivering 19 goals and 11 assists during that triumphant campaign, the £63m-rated frontman continued his fine form last season with 25 goals and four assists across 49 appearances in all competitions, as per Transfermarkt.

Described as a "machine" by reporter Roberto Rojas and a "special talent" by verified journalist Joshua Jones, Martinez is an exceptional talent and one that has barely entered the peak years of his career.

It's no secret that Spurs need alternatives to Kane, seeing as the England skipper is Conte's only senior option right now, barring an out-of-position play from someone like Steven Bergwijn or Heung-min Son.

So why not add Martinez to the mix, not only would he be a viable rotational option but also a lethal frontline partner; enough to strike fear into many Premier League defences.

Given his previous with the player, the Inter star is surely the dream summer signing for Conte at Hotspur Way.

AND in other news, Conte could land his next Perisic as Spurs now plot bid for "unstoppable" £17m "beast"...
