Tottenham Hotspur could spring a surprise before the end of the transfer window on September 1st, according to Eurosport journalist Dean Jones...

What's the word?

The ever-reliable transfer insider dropped a rather intriguing claim to GIVEMESPORT this week, where he revealed that the Premier League side are likely to make a sudden move in the market.

“There’s going to be a surprise at the end of Tottenham’s window and while I don’t think it will be a £30m or £40m player, this is a new regime and things are working a bit differently, so it might be a nice surprise," Jones said.

Conte not done yet

As Spurs embark on their pre-season tour of South Korea, it is evident that manager Antonio Conte isn't finished when it comes to strengthening his playing squad.

The Italian head coach has already overseen the arrivals of five new signings.

Ivan Perisic has joined on a free transfer from Inter Milan, Fraser Forster also cost nothing from Southampton, whilst Yves Bissouma has joined in a £25m deal from Brighton, Richarlison made a shock £60m move from Everton and now Barcelona's Clement Lenglet is through the door on loan.

It's expected that Spurs see a deal for Middlesbrough right-back Djed Spence over the line in the coming weeks to make it a total of six arrivals.

And whilst it remains to be seen exactly who Jones is hinting at but either way, it's surely going to raise excitement and expectations with Lilywhites supporters around N17.

Memphis Depay, Josko Gvardiol and Jesse Lingard are just three names to be linked with a move to Spurs and all three are in different positions, so indeed, the north Londoners could make a "surprise" out of nowhere.

It's certainly an exciting summer to be a Tottenham fan.
