Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a deal to bring Federico Dimarco to the Premier League next summer.

What's the talk?

Transfer Focus

That's according to a report by Italian media outlet CalcioMercatoWeb, who claim that Antonio Conte is keeping a very close eye on the Inter Milan wing-back ahead of launching a potential move for the 25-year-old at the end of the current campaign, with the Serie A side believed to value the Italy international at a figure of around €40m (£35m).

The report goes on to state that the 53-year-old Spurs manager is hoping to repeat his signing of Ivan Perisic this summer, the 33-year-old who joined Tottenham from the Nerazzurri on a free transfer back in June.

A dream signing

Considering just how impressive Dimarco has been for Inter this season, it is not difficult to understand why the player would be a dream signing for Conte should they complete a deal to bring the left-sided defender to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Indeed, over his 15 Serie A appearances in 2022/23, the £35m-rated talent has been deadly going forwards, hitting the back of the net on three occasions, registering one assist and creating five big chances for his teammates, in addition to taking an average of 1.5 shots and making 1.8 key passes per game.

These returns have seen the £50k-per-week sensation average a simply breathtaking SofaScore match rating of 7.20, not only ranking him as Simone Inzaghi's joint second-best performer in the league but also as the joint 22nd-best player in the top flight of Italian football as a whole.

It has been a similar story for the 25-year-old over his four outings in the Champions League this season, providing two assists and creating three big chances, as well as making an average of 1.8 key passes, 1.3 interceptions, 0.5 tackles and 1.3 clearances per fixture.

These metrics have seen the Italy international who Carlo Garganese dubbed the "left-footed Italian Beckham" average an extremely impressive SofaScore match rating of 7.13, ranking him as Inter's sixth-best performer in Europe's most prestigious club competition.

And, while it is true that Conte has the options of Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon at left wing-back, with the former very much already being well into the twilight of his career at the top of the professional game, a move for a long-term replacement for the Croatia international would a dream as his position is typically a vital one in the Italian tactician's system.

As such, considering just how impressive Dimarco has been for Inter this term, it would seem as if the Italian sensation would be a dream signing for Conte - leading us to believe that Fabio Paratici must do all he can to convince the defender of a switch to north London next summer.
