Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a deal to bring Gleison Bremer to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer transfer window.

What's the talk?

That's according to a report by Italian publication Tuttosport (via Sport Witness), who claim that Tottenham, as well as Liverpool, Manchester City, Inter Milan, Juventus, AC Milan and Bayern Munich, are lining up a move for the Torino centre-back at the end of the current campaign - with the Serie A side believed to be demanding a fee in the region of €25m (£21m) in order to part with the 24-year-old.

The report goes on to state that Fabio Paratici is ready to open talks with the Italian club regarding a deal for the Brazilian, with Urbano Cairo, the Torino chairman, said to favour selling the defender to an English side due to their larger transfer budgets.

Bremer would "tick the boxes" of Conte

Considering his extremely impressive profile, as well as the fantastic vein of form he has been in for Torino this season, it is easy to see why Paratici would be interested in a move for Bremer this summer, as the centre-back would appear to suit Antonio Conte's requirements perfectly.

Indeed, the Forza Italian Football editor in chief, Conor Clancy, said of the 6 foot 2 Brazilian back in 2021:

"If we're going to tick the boxes of all the old stereotypes where you've got to be a little bit strong and powerful and able to go the distance in a physical battle, then absolutely he'd suit [the Premier League]. He could probably play in a deeper midfield role as well as at the back so I think he could do quite well in England."

Furthermore, Italian football journalist Carlo Garganese also heaped a considerable amount of praise on the £27m-rated defender earlier this season, stating:

"Bremer has been highly-rated for a while, with the Brazilian heavily linked with a move to the Premier League last season. However, it is this season where he has truly exploded and demonstrated that he is certainly ready to join a big club. The 24-year-old has undoubtedly been the best defender in Serie A in the first half of the season, despite playing for a mid-table Torino side. The centre-back boasts excellent pace, is aggressive and is superb in the air."

Indeed, Garganese's claim that the £18k-per-week colossus has been one of the better players in Serie A this season would not appear too wide of the mark, as Bremer has been in magnificent form over his 24 league outings for I Granata, helping his side keep six clean sheets, scoring three goals and registering one assist, as well as making an average of 3.5 interceptions, 1.4 tackles, 3.7 clearances, 36.1 passes and winning 6.6 duels per game.

These returns have seen the 24-year-old - who is also more than comfortable in operating from both left and right-back - average an extremely impressive SofaScore match rating of 7.14, ranking him as Ivan Juric's fourth-best player in the top flight of Italian football.

Furthermore, according to FBREF, Bremer also ranks in the top 3% of defenders in Europe's big five leagues for pressures, in addition to the top 1% for interceptions, the top 6% for ariel duels won, the top 19% for dribbles completed and the top 26% for progressive passes per 90 minutes.

As such, with the centre-back being versatile enough to play across any position in a back-three, as well as being an excellent reader of the game, boasting a fantastic passing range and possessing an imposing physical presence, it would appear highly advisable for Paratici to do all he can to land Bremer this summer - as the Brazilian would be the perfect fit for Conte's Spurs.
