Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a deal to bring Konrad Laimer to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

What's the talk?

That's according to a report by German publication Kicker, who claim that Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool are all keeping a close eye on the situation of the RB Leipzig midfielder ahead of a potential move at the end of the season.

Previous reports had claimed that a number of other Premier League sides, including Manchester United, are also keeping tabs on the 24-year-old, while Leipzig themselves are thought to be hoping to tie the former RB Salzburg starlet down to a new deal in Germany.

However, it is believed that the Austria international - whose current contract with the Bundesliga side runs until 2023 - is unsure as to whether or not he will put pen to paper on a new deal at the Red Bull Arena, as he would be in favour of securing a switch to England this summer.

Conte's dream signing

When considering the type of central midfielder Laimer is, it is easy to see why Antonio Conte would be keen on a deal to bring the 24-year-old to north London this summer.

Indeed, the Bundesliga website compares the £23.4m-rated talent's style of play to that of Chelsea's N'Golo Kante, before stating of the Leipzig dynamo's characteristics on the pitch:

"You'll be hard-pressed to find a player who harries the opposition quite as intensively as Laimer, who is also a dab hand at shielding the ball, recycling possession and facilitating counter-attacks. 'Dirty Work' could be his middle name."

Furthermore, the former Salzburg and current Borussia Monchengladbach manager, Adi Hutter, has also praised the Austrian's industrious manner in the middle of the park, stating:

"He is incredibly aggressive on the ball, challenges opponents very hard and brings established professionals to the ground. He knows exactly what he wants."

These traits are evident from the £49k-per-week man's statistics over the last 365 days, with FBref ranking Laimer in the top 1% of midfielders in Europe's big five leagues for pressures per 90, as well as the top 15% for tackles, the top 14% for progressive carries, the top 18% for blocks and the top 15% for dribbles completed.

However, the 24-year-old is also clearly adept in both an attacking and creative capacity, with FBref ranking him in the top 8% of midfielders for non-penalty goals per 90, in addition to the top 3% of non-penalty xG, the top 11% for shots, the top 3% for assists, the top 11% for xA and the top 3% for non-penalty xG+xA.

As such, aside from being an "elite presser," Laimer is also extremely efficient in the final third, something which makes it rather obvious as to why the versatile midfielder - who can also operate from right-back, right wing-back and right midfield - would be something of a dream signing for Fabio Paratici to bring into the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for Conte this summer.
