Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a deal to bring Nabil Fekir to the Premier League in the summer transfer window.

What's the talk?

Transfer Focus

That's according to a recent report from Spain (via CaughtOffside), in which it is claimed that both Tottenham and AC Milan have now entered into talks with Real Betis regarding a move for the attacking midfielder - with whom the LaLiga side are not believed to be willing to part for anything less than €40m (£34m) this summer.

The report goes on to state that Fabio Paratici is currently discussing the idea of a switch with the 29-year-old and his representatives, before potentially submitting an official bid for the France international with Manuel Pellegrini's side in the coming weeks.

"Super signing"

Considering just how impressive Fekir was for Betis last season, in addition to the fact that Paratici is known to be targeting the signing of an attacking midfielder as his next move in the summer market, it is easy to see why the Spurs sporting director would be keen on a deal to bring the 29-year-old to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Indeed, over his 34 LaLiga appearances in 2021/22, the £36m-rated talent was in sensational form, scoring six goals, registering eight assists and creating 12 big chances for his teammates, as well as taking an average of 2.5 shots, making 2.5 key passes and completing 2.4 dribbles per game.

These returns saw the £114k-per-week forward-thinking midfielder - who can also operate on the right wing and as a centre-forward - average a rather extraordinary SofaScore match rating of 7.26, not only ranking him as Pellegrini's best performer in the league - of players who featured in more than one game - but also as the joint 10th-best player in the Spanish top flight as a whole.

The Frenchman who Ben Hayward dubbed both "unbelievable" and a "super signing" also played a key role in Betis' widely unexpected Copa del Rey triumph, scoring two goals over his six appearances in the famous competition.

As such, it is clear to see just how exceptional an addition Fekir would make to Antonio Conte's squad ahead of Spurs' Premier League and Champions League campaigns next season - leading us to believe that Paratici must do everything he can to get a deal over the line for the 29-year-old this summer.
