Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a deal to bring Renato Sanches to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

What's the talk?

That's according to a report by French media outlet Le10 Sport (via Sport Witness), who claim that Spurs have a real interest in the LOSC Lille central midfielder, although Fabio Paratici is yet to make a concrete offer for the 23-year-old.

The report goes on to state that Barcelona are also keeping a close eye on the situation of the Portugal international, however, as a result of the La Liga side's dire financial situation, they do not look likely to be able to afford a move for Sanches in the summer transfer window.

Nuno would love him

While Nuno Espirito Santo does already possess a number of options in the middle of the park, it is a very easy argument to make that Sanches would be an upgrade on the likes of Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko in the Tottenham midfield.

Indeed, over his 23 Ligue 1 appearances for Christophe Galtier's Lille side last season - only 14 of which came as starts, largely due to a muscle injury - the £27m-rated midfielder scored one goal, registered three assists and created five big chances for his teammates.

Sanches also made an average of 0.6 interceptions, 0.6 tackles, 0.8 key passes and won 3.8 duels per game, with these metrics seeing the £51k-per-week man earn a seasonal SofaScore match rating of 6.90.

The 23-year-old's performances played a massive part in helping his side rather miraculously pip Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1 title, the club's first league win in 10 years.

As such, the man the Bundesliga website dubbed "very much like Clarence Seedorf" would indeed appear to make a fantastic addition to Nuno Espirito Santo's options in central midfield, especially considering just how better he performed than both of Winks and Sissoko last season, who earned seasonal SofaScore match ratings of 6.66 and 6.63 respectively.

So, should Paratici go on to get a deal over the line for the man Pep Guardiola labelled a "fantastic" player this summer, it would very much appear to be a transfer that Nuno would love.
