Tottenham Hotspur are readying a move to bring Sofyan Amrabat to the Premier League in the January transfer window.

That's according to a report by Italian publication La Repubblica (via Sport Witness), who claim that, after being linked with the ACF Fiorentina central midfielder back in 2021, Antonio Conte's side are now 'ready to get underway' with another approach for the 26-year-old in the winter market following the player's impressive performances at the Qatar World Cup.

The report goes on to state that, with the Morocco international's current deal at the Stadio Artemio Franchi set to expire in the summer of 2024, the Serie A side are hoping to tie the midfielder down to a new contract in the not-too-distant future, however, it is said a sizeable offer from Spurs could tempt La Viola into a sale in the January transfer window.

"World-class"

Considering just how impressive Amrabat has been for Morocco in Qatar so far this month, it is easy to see why Conte is keen to reignite Tottenham's interest in the midfielder this winter - as the 26-year-old would undoubtedly make an excellent addition to the 53-year-old's current options in the middle of the park.

Indeed, over his two World Cup outings so far, the £17.5m-rated talent has been crucial in the heart of Walid Regragui's side, enjoying an average of 55.5 touches of the ball, completing 37.5 passes - at a success rate of 87% - and playing one long ball per game.

The £32k-per-week midfielder has also impressed in metrics more typical of his defensively-minded position, making an average of 1.5 tackles, one interception, one clearance and winning 2.5 duels per match.

These returns have not only seen the Fiorentina star average an eye-catching SofaScore match rating of 6.90 - currently ranking him as Morocco's tenth-best performer at the World Cup - but have also seen the 41-cap international come in for a considerable amount of praise, none more so than from Regragui.

In comments made after The Atlas Lions' shock 2-0 victory over Belgium last time out, the Morocco head coach said of his midfield general: "Trust me, Amrabat is a world-class player. He is a key player in my plans. I expect him to move to one of the major European clubs after the World Cup."

Indeed, considering just how impressive the former KV Club Brugge talent has been in Qatar, it is easy to see why Conte is once again plotting a move for the 26-year-old this winter, as Amrabat would undoubtedly make a world-class addition to the Italian's current options in the middle of the park at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
