Tottenham are looking to complete the signing of Juventus attacker Dejan Kulusevski before the transfer window closes on Monday.

What's the story?

According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, Spurs manager Antonio Conte is hoping to add Kulusevski to his squad before the end of the transfer window, having not yet made a signing this month.

Ornstein tweeted: "Tottenham working on deal to sign Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus. 21yo Sweden attacker contracted to 2025 so if deal happens would expect loan + option/obligation. Paratici a big admirer."

The deal could be a loan with an option to buy, with the midfielder's contract with the Serie A giants set to expire in 2025.

At just 21, the Swede has already made 27 appearances in all competitions for the Bianconeri this term, with 20 games in Serie A and five in the Champions League. Moreover, the youngster has featured 74 times for Juventus, scoring nine goals and contributing ten assists.

The report added that, whilst at Parma on loan, Kulusevski won the Serie A Young Player of the Year Award having almost single-handedly kept them in the top flight. He is also a versatile attacker, which has made it hard for the 21-year-old to settle in one position for Juventus.

Antonio Conte would love Kulusevski

Despite being seventh in the Premier League, Spurs aren't in nearly as serious a predicament as their current position suggests, largely thanks to the arrival of Antonio Conte in November. They have taken 21 points from a possible 30 since the Italian took charge in N17.

The Lilywhites are just two points off the top four and have two games in hand over fourth-placed Manchester United, giving them plenty of control in the race for Champions League qualification.

However, Tottenham lack quality options out wide, with the absence of Heung-min Son being particularly felt of late. Moreover, it looks like the north London outfit will miss out on the signature of Wolves winger Adama Traore, who looks set to join Barcelona.

Predominantly a right winger, the Swede could offer much-needed depth anywhere in attack, with Lucas Moura currently the only senior winger who prefers that flank.

Spurs are yet to make a signing this month and could seriously do with reinforcements before Monday's deadline in order to make a genuine attempt of a top-four push. Considering Kulusevski's versatility and evident talents, Conte would surely love to pull off a deal for the youngster by the time he wakes up on Tuesday morning.
