The Championship's Playoffs are where reputations and careers can be made or broken. One glittering performance can promote your club to the Premier League or earn you a big-money move to a team already established in the top flight, just as a catastrophic showing can condemn you to a career in the second tier. People struggle to forget a disastrous display in such a high-profile occasion.

Thus, all eyes will be on the Championship's Playoff action this week as Fulham take on Reading and Sheffield Wednesday face Huddersfield, but there's no prizes for guessing which player the Premier League's clubs will be watching closest - the Cottagers' 16-year-old wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon.

Indeed, the teenager has enjoyed a stunning debut season in west London, making 29 appearances across all competitions and even hitting the net against Premier League opposition in the form of Hull City in the FA Cup.

Unsurprisingly, top flight suitors are by no means in short supply, with London Evening Standard claiming last month that Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have all shown a strong interest in the youngster.

And it seems Sessegnon's rise has come at precisely the right time. As an attacking full-back who has spent much of the season in midfield, he perfectly fits the wing-back trend that has taken the Premier League by storm this season and looks set to continue over the course of the next few years. Wide players capable defensively and offensively, who are athletic enough to marshal entire flanks on their own.

Physically, Sessegnon might not be developed enough for such demands just yet. After such a phenomenal first season at senior level, however, Premier League sides will inevitably tempted to put some money on the table should the youngster produce his best form in the Playoffs. Fulham's trip to Reading on Tuesday night could well be the deciding factor in the next stage of his career.
