Tottenham Hotspur have struggled to find top-class attackers in recent years, excluding stand-out performer Harry Kane, with last summer's recruit Vincent Janssen failing to provide a spark into the Spurs front-line.

Netting just four goals this season, all of which have come from the penalty spot, Spurs are likely to seek new recruits in attack come the summer and The Mirror suggests Mauricio Pochettino's side hold interest in Atletico Madrid's Kevin Gameiro.

Having scored a hat-trick at the weekend, Atletico are reportedly ready to listen to offers for the 29-year-old Frenchman and his stats suggest he can add some much-needed depth into the Lilywhites attack.

In 22 appearances this season, seven of which have come off the bench, Gameiro has netted nine goals for Diego Simeone's side and has also contributed with a further five assists- showing he has the cutting edge to carve through opposition's defences.

With his passing accuracy, shots per game and aerial duels all relatively low, Gameiro probably wouldn't be the first name on the team-sheet in White Hart Lane but he could provide a capable back-up to Kane, allowing Pochettino to rotate the squad when he sees fit.
