According to reports from Mirror Football, Manchester City and Manchester United are both interested in signing Benfica goalkeeper Ederson during the summer transfer window.
Both clubs could be obliged to change their options between the sticks this summer. It remains to be seen if David De Gea will stay on at Old Trafford, whereas City’s goalkeeping situation is nothing short of an absolute mess.
And judging by his performances for Benfica this season, serving as their No.1 en route to the Portuguese title, it’s not hard to see why both clubs are eyeing Ederson.
Indeed, the Brazilian has been in fantastic form this term, claiming 17 clean sheets from 27 league outings whilst conceding just twelve goals.
Of course, the Primeira Liga isn’t exactly a goal fest at the best of times, but what perhaps stands out most about the Brazilian is his saves-per-goal ratio – a mightily impressive 4.08.
Aged just 23, Ederson could prove to be a fantastic long-term investment for either club.
