AC Milan want Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas to be their marquee signing this summer, according to Corriere dello Sport.

What's the story?

It is not the first time that the Spaniard has been linked with the Serie A side.

This time, though, it is believed that the club's new Chinese investors are determined to splash out on signing him.

Milan's takeover is due to be completed next week, and Corriere dello Sport claims that Fabregas is seen by officials at the club as the man who can help the Rossoneri become a force again.

Currently, the Italian outfit sit seventh in Serie A, four points adrift of the top five and seven behind third-placed Napoli.

Should Fabregas leave Chelsea?

It is highly likely that the midfielder will pick up a Premier League winners' medal in May.

Antonio Conte's Chelsea side currently have an eight-point lead at the top of the table with 13 games left to play.

In most cases it would not make sense for a player to move on from a title-winning team, but unfortunately for Fabregas, he has not played a big role in Chelsea's impressive run.

The Spain international has started just five Premier League games and has come off the bench on 11 occasions.

Despite not being a regular, Fabregas has still scored five goals in all competitions and has six league assists to his name, proving that he can still be an influential figure.

There are more chances of winning silverware at Chelsea, but the opportunity of regular football and being part of a new era under Milan could be the right option for Fabregas.
