Arsenal's chances of keeping Alexis Sanchez beyond the summer have taken a massive blow following a dressing-room bust-up after Wednesday's defeat to Bayern Munich, The Sun reports.

What's the word?

Arsenal have desperately been trying to extend Alexis Sanchez' contract at North London throughout the entirety of the current season, with the Chilean ace having now entered the final 18 months of his current deal, but it now appears that the Gunners have missed their chance.

The Sun states Alexis has decided to quit the Premier League club in the summer following a massive dressing-room row with his team-mates in the wake of Arsenal's embarrassing 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich- which has left Arsene Wenger's side on the brink of a seventh-consecutive Champions League exit at the Round of 16 stage.

Alexis, who netted Arsenal's first-half equaliser, let rip at his team-mates after the final whistle following a poor defensive performance- with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alex Iwobi, Shkodran Mustafi and Francis Coquelin all making errors that resulted in a goal for the Bavarians.

Is there any saving Alexis?

Arsenal's chances of keeping Alexis Sanchez in North London already looked bleak following their failures to compete this season, with any lingering chances of winning the Premier League collapsing earlier this month following back-to-back defeats against Watford and Chelsea, whilst the latest Champions League disappointment shows Arsenal are still some way off competing in Europe.

Players are said to have blamed each other following the defeat whilst assistant manager Steve Bould threw a water bottle against the wall, suggesting that an irreparable rift has developed through the heart of the Gunners squad.

Alexis, visibly agree at numerous times this season, is certainly a player that should be contending for major honours and his determination for success could see him walk at the end of the campaign.
