Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has urged Jose Mourinho to beat Chelsea to the signature of Ivorian ace Franck Kessie, The Sun reports.

What's the word?

Manchester United are expected to go all-out in the summer transfer yet again at the end of the season, with the aim of targeting top-class names and exciting young talents that can be developed into superstars at Old Trafford.

Having landed Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly last summer, Jose Mourinho has already made it clear he's not afraid to spend cash in the best and brightest- with Bailly now urging his boss to move for his international colleague.

The Sun states Bailly is keen for Franck Kessie to join him at Manchester United from Atalanta but United will have to fend-off keen interest from European giants to land the player's services, as Chelsea and Real Madrid are tracking the 20-year-old.

Where would Kessie fit?

With a midfield that already boasts the likes of Pogba, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick, it's perhaps difficult to see exactly where Kessie would fit-in at Old Trafford. However, at just 20-years-old he has plenty of time to find his spot.

The combative midfielder, likened to Manchester City's Yaya Toure, could be seen as the ideal replacement for Carrick in the long-term and it would give United an exciting midfield for years to come- but the interest from rival parties could be an issue.

Chelsea may see Kessie as the ideal midfield partner to N'Golo Kante at Stamford Bridge whilst Manchester United would also have to compete with a host of Serie A's top-sides, with Inter Milan, Juventus and Roma said to be keen.
