According to Sport, Barcelona are preparing their first bid of £26million for Arsenal star Hector Bellerin, after the Spaniard held talks with Arsene Wenger.
After months of speculation, it seems that Barcelona are finally ready to make their first offer to Arsenal for their Spanish full-back Hector Bellerin.
The 22-year-old defender has reportedly held talks with Arsene Wenger and is now requesting to move back the club where he spent most of his teenage years.
If the Spaniard hadn’t shown glimpses of his sumptuous quality before the 2016/17 season, most would be praising him for his performances during the most recent campaign.
However, the 22-year-old was in truth, underwhelming and couldn’t find the consistency that was so prevalent in past seasons.
While there is no doubting that Bellerin is one of the brightest young talents in the Arsenal squad, holding a player against his will could have serious detrimental consequences. The Spaniard has made it clear that he wants a return to his boyhood club and Arsenal would be foolish to stand in the way of him, especially as his formed dipped significantly during the 2016/17 season.
With a number of players available on the market who can play at Bellerin’s position, the club are faced with a tough decision. However, it would be to the detriment of the entire squad to leave this transfer lingering all summer and the sooner a decision is made, the better.
