Chelsea have joined the race for Torino striker Andrea Belotti and believe he could replace Diego Costa, Transfermarketweb states.

What's the word?

Diego Costa's future at Chelsea has been under scrutiny ever since his high profile bust-up with Antonio Conte earlier this month, amidst huge offers from China, and whilst the Spaniard is likely to stay until the end of the season, he could leave this summer.

The former Atletico Madrid man wanted to leave before the start of the season but then changed his mind, so Chelsea have been prepared for this scenario. However, they're eyeing someone new as they've joined the chase for highly-rated Torino striker Andrea Belotti.

Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are amongst those also interested in the 23-year-old but Chelsea's emergence on the market could be crucial, as they'd provide a big pay rise and regular football.

Is Belotti that good?

Whatever your thoughts on the competitiveness in Serie A, 14 goals and 3 assists in eighteen appearances is a phenomenal record. He hasn't just excelled in Turin though, as he's netted three goals in five caps for Italy's national side.

Naturally that has caught the attention of many but question marks will still remain as to whether he could do it in the Premier League or Champions League. That remains the concern for all the strikers outside of English football though, so it's nothing new.

The Italian would command a high-price, as he's rated at a remarkable £50m, but, due to his age, he could excel for years to come and whoever lands his services will capture a player with plenty of potential.
