Chelsea are keen to sign Torino ace Andrea Belotti this summer but have already received a blow in the transfer market as Bayern Munich have lodged a bid, Italian outlet La Stampa reports.

What's the word?

With Diego Costa's future at Stamford Bridge remaining up in the air and Michy Batshuayi failing to impress since moving to the Premier League, it's likely that Antonio Conte will move in the summer market to sign a top-class striker.

Having made unsuccessful advances to sign Moussa Dembele from Celtic in January, a move that could be revived at the end of the season, Chelsea have also expressed interest in signing Torino's 23-year-old starlet Andrea Belotti, according to The Daily Express.

The young Italian has enjoyed sensational form this season after netting 17 goals in just 20 starts and has attracted vast interest from across the continent. Whilst Chelsea are amongst the frontrunners for his services, it seems they've fallen behind in the race.

Who holds the advantage?

According to Italian outlet La StampaBayern Munich hold the trump card in the pursuit for Belotti's services after making initial advances to sign Belotti from Torino- even holding preliminary talks with the Serie A side.

The door still remains open for other sides to move for Belotti though, with Arsenal and Manchester United sending scouts to watch the forward in action this year, as the young striker reportedly has an audacious release-clause of £86m.

It's unlikely any interested party would have to match that price, although it does give Torino the advantage in negotiations. With his contract also lasting until 2021, there is no imminent need for a sale to occur.
