As reported by TransferMarketWeb.com, Alex Sandro has emerged as a target for Arsenal this summer, after a sensational season at Juventus.

What's the story?

Arsenal have struggled to find a consistent, elite left-back in recent years with neither Nacho Monreal nor Kieran Gibbs really up to the task going forward if they are to achieve their ambitions of challenging for the title.

TransferMarketWeb reckon one such player Arsene Wenger is targeting is Juventus' Alex Sandro, although to get him they'll have to fight off competition from Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Is he the man Wenger should turn to, to solve their woes on the left hand side of defence?

How good is he?

Currently valued on Transfermarkt at £25m, it's unlikely that any Arsenal move for the defender will come cheap. However, with that price tag comes a player at the peak of his game currently getting the job done at the highest level of club football.

He's been a stand out for Juventus this season on their way to the UEFA Champions League final, making 10 appearances in the competition so far.

In total he has 40 appearances for the Italian giants this season and has shown versatility by appearing up and down the left flank whether in defence or attack, shining on the majority of occasions.

The Brazilian is entering the peak of his career at 26 years of age and would certainly be a signing that excites supporters at the Emirates, who believe they need big money signings in order to challenge for the title next season.
