According to The Independent, Arsenal are prepared to sell Lucas Perez for £13m this summer, which has attracted the attention of a number of European clubs.

What's the story?

Perez, 28, appears to be on his way out of Arsenal this summer, just one season after moving to the Emirates Stadium from Spanish outfit Deportivo La Coruna.

The attacker managed seven goals in 21 appearances for Arsenal during the 2016-17 campaign, but he only started two Premier League matches, registering just one goal.

The Spaniard's performances, particularly in the Champions League, made him a favourite of the Arsenal supporters, but it does appear that head coach Arsene Wenger has made Perez surplus to requirements ahead of the 2017-18 season.

According to The Independent, Arsenal are prepared to accept a £4m loss on the £17m that they paid Deportivo last summer, which is a figure that has drawn the attention of a number of clubs.

Who is in the running for Perez?

Sevilla, Valencia, Villarreal and Real Sociedad are all reportedly interested in bringing Perez back to Spain, but all four would need to sell before being able to submit a £13m offer.

Everton would have no such problems, however, and it has been claimed that the Toffees want Perez and Malaga's Sandro Ramirez as they prepare to lose leading scorer Romelu Lukaku.

Everton would have no problems in coming up with £13m to bring Perez to Goodison Park, and although the Spaniard is said to be keen on a return to Deportivo, the chance to prove his worth in the Premier League might be a welcome challenge.

The 28-year-old was believed to be on the verge of international recognition after scoring 17 La Liga goals for Deportivo during the 2015-16 campaign, but it has been an unhappy 12 months.

Everton supporters might well feel that they have bigger fish to fry this summer, but the £13m capture of Perez could prove to be an excellent signing for the Merseyside outfit.
