As reported by ESPN, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are amongst the front runners in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Serge Aurier this summer.

What's the story?

With powerful full-backs coveted more than ever in the modern game, clubs are on the look out for players that can add real quality to the flanks this summer and both United and Spurs need someone on the right hand side more than most.

It's an area of Jose Mourinho's first team that can do with an upgrade and at Spurs they need a replacement for Kyle Walker after his big move to Manchester City.

One contender for that spot in both teams is Paris Saint-Germain defender Serge Aurier. That's according to ESPN who say that both United and Spurs are battling it out with Inter Milan to land him.

The outlet say he could cost as much as £22.5m.

Ready for the Premier League?

Aurier has emerged as one of the best full-backs in France over the last couple of years although has found himself down the pecking order at PSG behind Thomas Meunier and new signing Dani Alves. Signing in 2014, he's won plenty of trophies with the French side, 11 in total.

That kind of winning experience is something that could enhance both Spurs' and Manchester United as they look to add serious silverware to the cabinet home and abroad next season.

With power, pace, tackling ability and the desire to get forward with the ball, his game appears suited for the English Premier League and if he arrived on these shores we reckon he'd be a success, whichever team he ends up at.
