In Focus: Belotti could be the superstar striker to replace Costa at Chelsea

As reported by The Daily Mirror, Chelsea are ready to put their Romelu Lukaku woes behind them with a move for Torino’s red hot striker Andrea Belotti.

What’s the story?

With Lukaku on the verge of joining Manchester United, Chelsea have missed out on one of the English Premier League’s most consistent strikers in recent years. That, coupled with Diego Costa’s fall-out with Antonio Conte, means that they are in a need for a top quality striker.

The Daily Mirror report that Chelsea are about to put all that behind them, ready to make their move for Torino’s Andrea Belotti, who could cost as much as £90m.

The paper say Lukaku was Antonio Conte’s top target but with Belotti banging in the goals in Italian, is he ready to step up and become the scoring hero the Blues need next term?

Belotti scored a fantastic 28 goals for the Serie A side last season, netting another four for Italy in international competition. Put simply, he is on fire and one of the hottest prospects in Europe right now at the age of 23.

It will be a difficult task for him to make the move up to the standard Chelsea need but he has all the attributes required to be a success in the English Premier League.

His game is all about power, work-rate and pace, which coupled with his finishing ability could make him a legend at Stamford Bridge.
