Chelsea could be handed a huge boost this summer, should Real Madrid drop their interest in signing Eden Hazard as a result of Marco Asensio's development, according to Marca

What's the word?

Hazard's sensational form this year doesn't look to have gone unnoticed in the Spanish capital. With Los Blancos having a history in buying the best player in the Premier League in a huge summer deal, the Belgian has been the latest man touted to follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

Still, Asensio's progress could reportedly see top brass at the Santiago Bernabeu go cold on the idea of making a big summer move for the 25-year-old, as well as any other potential big name targets.

A popular figure amongst the Madridstas, the young Spanish international has proved impressive when handed a chance by Zinedine Zidane this season, despite the vast array of attacking talent available to the Frenchman.

How big a boost?

For Chelsea, this could be huge. Without any concrete interest from Real, and potentially Barcelona, it's hard to see any other club tempting Hazard away from Stamford Bridge.

Off the back of what looks like a league and cup double under Antonio Conte, the former Lille man could further establish himself as one of the best players in the world under the Italian, in what could be a fruitful future for both he and the Blues.
