As reported by Index, Jose Mourinho travelled to Croatia this weekend to take in the country's World Cup Qualifying match at home to Ukraine, with two players at the forefront of his mind.

What's the story?

Croatia boast a talented national team so it's no surprise the big managers are scoping out their matches, however it appears Mourinho's trip was one with more focus than simply casting a curious eye on potential talent.

Index reckon he was there for two reasons; one to meet with Ivan Perisic's agent to discuss a potential move from Inter Milan to Manchester United and also to check out the talents of fellow Inter star Marcelo Brozovic, who started against the Ukrainians.

There was no possibility of checking Perisic's form given he was suspended for the match.

Was Mourinho there doing business or was he simply enjoying a relaxing trip during the international break?

Dynamite duo?

Ivan Perisic is a vital part of the Inter attack, found on the left flank ripping Serie A defences apart more often than not. He's a goal threat too with 9 goals so far this season from the wing, coupled with 4 assists.

He would add much needed strength and depth to the line of attacking midfielders that sit behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a quick and direct presence that likes to cut inside from the wing.

Marcelo Brozovic is a different prospect altogether although no less impressive. He's been consistent throughout the season in the heart of the Inter midfield, with the versatility to be deployed further forward if need be.

Is he the man that can be Paul Pogba's perfect partner?

Both players would be impressive acquisitions by Mourinho and we'd expect their names to be linked with a whole host of elite clubs this summer.
