As reported by Goal, Manchester United target Ivan Perisic is desperate for a move to the English Premier League this summer and that could open the door for a cut-price move to Old Trafford.

What's the story?

As is often the case in modern football, transfers can be decided by player will alone. The power truly is with players and agents and if they want a move badly enough, it usually happens.

That could certainly be the case again this summer with Ivan Perisic. Goal report that the Croatian international is so eager for a move to the English Premier League that he could drive down Inter Milan's asking price into the range that Manchester United need to move for the attacker.

Goal reckon United are ready to pay £26m for him, and are in a healthy bargaining position thanks to Perisic's insistence on leaving this summer. Inter Milan's £39m valuation of the winger is under pressure according to the report.

Is he the right man for United this summer?

What does he offer?

There's no doubting that Perisic is an elite left-sided midfielder. Last season he scored 11 goals and created nine assists across the campaign, a creativity and goal threat that would go down a treat at Old Trafford.

Perisic excels at international level too, scoring five goals in his last 13 appearances for Croatia.

At 28 years he may not have long-term upside but he is a player in his prime that would certainly add significant talent and depth to Jose Mourinho's attack.

United's lack of depth was exposed last season and Mourinho will want to ensure they can battle both in Europe and domestically much better next term.
