Everton manager Ronald Koeman is plotting a move for injured Chelsea defender Baba Rahman as he looks to bolster his side ahead of a second season in the job at Goodison Park, according to reports from The Sun.

What's the word?

The Ghanaian international has been out on-loan with Bundesliga side Schalke this season, however, having suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury whilst on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations missed the rest of the season and will not be match fit until August.

However, that has not stopped Koeman being interested in a move for the 22-year-old as he looks to revitalise his back line over the coming months.

The former Southampton boss is, however, not alone in his interest in the Chelsea man. His temporary club for the season are keen to get him back in the Bundesliga after the summer, which would undoubtedly be the preferred move for Chelsea.

A future at the Bridge?

Rahman was in sensational from before moving to west London for £14m back in 2015, however, with Antonio Conte having brought in Marcos Alonso it seems he is not fancied at the Bridge.

However, Conte has been linked with a number of players who could well be support or even upgrades on Alonso, meaning that should Rahman impress upon his return there could be another chance.

The former Augsburg man split his time between left-back and left-mid whilst on loan meaning he should be able to slot into Conte's system rather comfortably.
